Wheel/Offset Question: I have 18"x8" et 35 on my 2000 2.7T (everything clears)...if I move to
18"x8.5" et 35....will they still fit over the HP2's???? I used the "wheel calculator", but I'm still confused...

They should...
the centerline of the wheel is the same for both wheels, but the inner edge of the rim will be 1/4" further inward, and the outer edge of the rim 1/4" further outboard.
As long as the spokes are the same shape, thickness, etc, you should be fine.

It still depends on the wheel ...
You would maintain the 35 mm offset from the centerline of the wheel to the hub face. As the number goes up the wheel is moving into the fender well and as it goes down it is moving out, for a constant width wheel. Since you are increasing the width, 1/4 inch/6.35mm will be further out toward the fender lip [and can you really fit that on a 2.7T based on whatever tires you are running??] and 1/4 inch will be further in toward the engine.
As you decrease the offset and move the tire "center" outward toward the fender, chances are you gain clearance for the HP 2's, but it all depends on the casting of the wheel around the inner spoke faces. Same with one et35 to another, though my guess is your chances are pretty good.
Note that RS6 stock wheels are et30's in 8.5, so they basically put all the increased width out toward the fenders, but that likely takes the RS6/S6/4.2 flares to pull off in 255's.
