Which wheels and what size?

This site is bad for the pocket book. You've got me hooked on new wheels now.
Personally, I think the stock 17" pie plate and s-versions of the Audi A6 4.2 wheels look fantastic. But a while ago I slammed two wheels, one is beyond repair so it's now the spare. It takes a long time to balance the wheels, too. Point is, probably time for an upgrade. New audi wheels are $500 or so and seem impossible to find.
So, which wheels?
Sportec mono 10
- the original, look sweet
- apparently a little heavy
- $5-600

Flik justice
- Replicas

- 25 lbs for 18's
- $200
BBS LM
- superlight (23lbs)
- super pricey ($800)

Or just stick with the original?

Lastly, is there a noticeable handling improvement going from 17 to 18" (really, from 40 series to 35 series), and then is there a noticeable ride quality drop? I just can't see putting on 19"/30's. That seems way extreme.
Thanks for your input

the BBS LM, OEM RS6 wheels, OEM S6 wheels, or the BBS wheels that Kimchee had on his 4.2 (RS-GT or RGR???).
Not a huge fan of the Fliks, only because I am an OEM guy, although I LOVE BBS wheels!
...oh no, did I say that out loud?
Anyway, I think wheels are a matter of personal taste, and as such, I have no taste since I am now on wheel set number 9! LOL!
Lose the pieplates, or at least designate them for winter use, and put on a dressy set of wheels for your ride!
