I'm looking at the A6 4.2, stuck with the 2000 models until the 2001's are here in a few months according to the dealers. I'll wait for an S6 if it wont be far behind.<p>Michael Forester

lease rates are great.

The 4.2 is so sooomth and comfortable. Will be putting in my order for the S6 in 24 months.

I'm hoping they put firmer springs and dampers that control the rebound a little better.

I'm getting my practice with the 4.2.

Most 00's in the NY tri-state area are gone,(except for some less than desireable colors)and there are no leftover with the sport package.

The dealers here are already selling 01's.

I could have bought a 01 silver-tungston with sport package but have chosen to wait till the end of the month to get a black on black with sports that is currently "on the water" . I'll be paying $2000 over invoice, but I'll have it now, not in six months when they will be cheaper.

It wont show until the "freshening" which will probably be in MY 2003. The S models are used in North America to prop-up and sustain interest and sales at the end of the product cycles here. It keeps an enthusiasm surrounding the vehicle, despite its age. The next thing we will see after the S8 is the new A4, then the new A8 (which is already 9 months delayed at least). After that, the S6 will probably arrive. Maybe we will see it sooner because of the M5, but BMW has different ideas about using their Ms in the US as marketing tools than Audi presently. Hopefully the response to the S4 will change that, but I would not hold my breath.
