When it's Audi's 2.7T sport package!
Guys,
I just got the 2000 brochure for the A6 which has the 2.8, 2.7T, A6 Avan6, and A6 4.2. The "sport package" for the 2.7T includes different wheels and performance tires and front sport seats.
The sport wheels are the exact same size (16") as the standard wheels and the performance tires (215/55) are exactly the same size as standard too.
There is no sport suspension.
The "sports seats" provide only a *little* more lateral support than the standard seats.
Yet, the 0-60 time for the 2.7T manual/auto is 6.0/6.6 seconds compare to the 4.2's 6.7 seconds. What gives Audi?

As for the sport package, either Audi liked the compromise between ride and handling on the 2.7T and didn't want to offer two versions, or they figured that those wanting firmer ride and bigger wheels should upgrade to the 4.2. Yet there is no stick available (correct?). So, not quite the same thing.

That package only included wheels/tires (and something else, but it slips my mind). I don't think it even included the sport seats. It wasn't until the '98 year that the A4's got a sport suspension. Audi has an odd way of doing things.
