I have read that their are many fake Philips D2S bulbs out there. Im wondering where I can purchase genuine bulbs, and how hard is it to replace bulbs on a 03 A6? Didn't look all that much but it seemed like the front clip might have to come off??

i got mine off ebay for half the price ($90 shipped) of anywhere else...i have no idea how to tell if they are fake or not, the bulbs said phillips and made in germany on them....but they work well, so i have no complaints

In December I bought off eBay from a guy in Utah who calls himself 'hidbulbzrus'. I just did a quick search and he's still selling them. My transaction went fine and the lamps work great. I got the 85122, not the 'plus' version, FWIW.

got mine from some guy in Lithuania. Google the number on the bulb, like Phillips 85122 or 85122+.

I got a couple for about $60 each. I like them better than the too-white/blue 6K temp bulbs.

I haven't done bulbs on an 03 A6, but on a 2K4.2A6 or an 02 S6 the HID and halogen high beam bulbs can be replaced without service position (what do you mean by removing front clip?).
