Where is this oil leak coming from?

Default Where is this oil leak coming from?

2002 A6 2.7T 67,000km.
Still on warranty.

Probably passenger side cam adjuster seal.

looks similar to where my porblem was......it was my cam seals

Default 01 A6 2.7T Q Tip. Same thing - cam adjuster. I have it recently done. BTW, thats my best bet...

Since that leak doesn't look that terrible, i would actually, wait a few more thousand miles and do it together with the timing belt. This way you will save money/time on labor, as you wouldn't have to disassemble and than put lots of parts back twice. Unless you plan on doing it yourself.

Default They actually replaced my cam seal under CPO warranty before I even picked it up on delivery at 52K

it must be a common problem with these motors

for me it was the oil pan.

Default Our allroad had a leaky upper oil pan gasket, replaced under warranty.

From the service document it looked like a very complicated job, many hours labor, but didn't show on the invoice because it was warranty.
