Default While Braking - Car Sways

I looked at finally saw that I have four different type treads on the car and I think to size difference. Like a 225 and a 250 or 255 on the other side. Wierd.

Is that the cause? Also could It be because of the brake fluid pressure difference?

Default Four different tires in two sizes? Yeah, that would cause uneven braking...

Check the diameters while you're at it, you may frying your quattro. Who sold you the car like that? Did you buy it without looking at it first?

Default Correct PSI in the tire ***

All of them are different PSI also, ones at 30 and some at 42PSI

- Is the PSI supposed to be 40"?

Default Tire Sizes - Suggested psi

Its 3 tires are 225/50 and one in the front is 255/40, but all different tire treads. What do you suggest for the PSI on them?

Default The 225's are almost a full inch taller than the 255. Not good for your car...

255/40/17 is the correct size. As 4D4 said, get four matching tires. Sooner rather than later. In the meantime, run 35psi all around.

Default 16 or 17"?

If 17" then yes, 255/40-17 is the correct size. However, 225/50-16 is also very close to the right size for the standard wheels. The OEM size was 235/50-16, which basically is not made. I actually run 245/50-16 on those wheels. I prefer it.

But you really do need 4 tires the same size. What butcher did this?

Default The Cars a mess

Some idiot didn't know how to take care of the car. So he bullsh!ted it so it can be sold. I bought it, and now with pleasure will fix it.

As my mechanic said, once you get this car going its the best car ever. Its got the technology, power, luxury and looks. He said he rarely ever see's the 2000-2004 A6's 4.2 in their shops and he owns a chain of 14 shops.

The previous owner wired the auxilery fan directly from the battery and bought a relay from Autozone and all jack wired the whole thing. I removed the aftermarket fan, cleaned his wiring out of there, bought a new fan controller unit and new Audi Aux. Fan and its all good.

I was going on the assumption that at least the wheels matched... that'd be hard to miss.
