whistle / howling noise

whistle / howling noise
all of a sudden I have an odd noise coming from my car. It sounds at though (siting in car driving) the noise is coming from the drivers side in engine compartment.
1. The noise is only present when cold
2. noise starts around 1800 rpm... gets louder and then goes away around 2300 RPM
3. on decel I get same noise starts 2300k... goes away by 1800k
it is not really loud... sounds kinda like a children's slide whistle.
any ideas ?? ?

my car does the same thing except its at 30mph exact. what engine do you have?

i have the same howling noise. i dint really pay much mind to it because my middle muffler is sort of rusted and I thought it was coming from there(sounds like it is)

My XC60 electric Volvo and my neighbors new Tesla is quiet when backing out. My Q5e is way too loud! If the government requires an electric car have a noise... Well sounds stupid but there should be a decibel level. Might as well put a dinging bell like a garbage truck on the electric Audi.
