Who else got car stuff for Xmas? Wife gave me a Valentine One upgrade. Gave her 2002 R8 model...
And lots of other off-topic stuff. Thank goodness she didn't get me a $1500 watch I've had my eye on (I'm collecting under-$200 ones). But, my new bomber jacket goes well with the A6 Melange interior and my fleiger chronograph (aviator watch that looks like old-fashioned altimeter).
She's quite the Le Mans fan, with an <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/190810.phtml">Audi Le Mans</a> book on the subject full of signatures of the Audi and Champion drivers (almost all of them).
Went for a drive. Only places open:
Gas stations
Denny's
Indian and Korean restaurants
Drug stores (flu season?)
Even Starbucks is closed!!!

Got some detailing Clay, Wax ....and a new tire gauge.
When checking my tire pressure this morning found that I had scratched the left rear rim. about 3- 1" sratches. Don't know how or when but it is done.

My Son gave me a car cover. Nice kid, guess I raised him well.
The box say's it for a A8 so I'll have to check and make sure it's right. It's the thought that count though, WOW what a gift. Just what I wanted, wonder how he knew ;-}

Did you upgrade it yet?
I was thinking of doing this, but I found it is actually a lot cheaper to sell the old V1 on Ebay and just buy a new one. Just something to consider if you haven't completed the transaction.
By the way, I ordered one for my bro for X-mas. Paid $360 direct from Valentine on one that someone tried and returned. It was the latest revision and they offered it to me on the phone when I was going to order a new one. It came with the full warantee and looks to be in perfect condition, and was tested out before they repacked it.

Do you know the going rate for a V1 with the slightly taller case? (just before the change)
If I can only save $20 or 30 by selling on eBay, I'll just send it back and avoid the hassle.

I got a '99 A8. Does that count as "car stuff"? :-D
Our son will now be allowed to drive our '99 A6 Avant more often.
