I think it's fair to hate a car based on looks. If I can't get past the looks, forget it.

My E36 M3 is beautiful and so are my two Avants. You have to get to know a car just as you do a person before you can trully assess whether you like it or not.

Until the Bangle generation, BMW made a line of cars that would most closely match the line of cars that I would make in my fantasy world. Great looking, great driving cars.

I own Audi for the AWD and because I'm a little bit cheap, and I have issues with the BMW image.

If I had to "hate" a car company, it would have to be one that I could not respect, or one that lacks a passion for building great machines. GM and Ford top the list, and Chrysler is a distant third.

That's why I wouldn't say I hate BMW - only specific models. I definitely have respect for the company, even for their daring moves of "evolutionary" styling. It's just that it all ended up looking horrible. Just as I respect Audi for their daring front end designs recently, even though I don't like them.
