More to the point, did the headlight dimensions change with the facelift? I suspect the answer is no, but who has experience with this?

I know the HID lamp size changed, but I don't think the headlight itself changed.

I ask because the Allroad headlights have the same part number across '01 - '03, but we have examples of the Allroad lights fitted to a pre-facelift A6. Maybe the Allroad headlight dimensions remained true to the original A6 dimensions.

'02+ A6 headlights did change; won't fit pre-facelift. allroad did not go through facelift.

I can see a bit of difference when I park next to the 2002 A6 my coworker has. Very subtle difference, but enough to make it not work, unless you want to change the hood,bumper, and both front fenders to the 2002+ parts. I considered the facelift mod for my repairs, but that would have involved two new headlamps, when insurance was only going to cover one (the driver's side was fine), as well as the driver's side fender, which was also intact. I decided that it was not worth it.
