Why does audi use yellowish xenons?

Default exactly...that is why Philips makes the 5000K bulb, so it can be used as a replacement

for a 4300K that has blown to match the color of the older 4300K.

Default I agree with a few of the others: headlights are not for show

Having said that, I believe some of the color difference you are seeing might be a slight prismatic effect from the projector. To my eyes, at least, the color emitted by a projector based headlight--regardless of bulb type--is not uniform when comparing the center of the beam to the edges.

i've owned a pair, they look cool, but i felt the output during rain showers was unacceptable

and whats audi stock kelvin rating? 4300k? for HIDs?

Default Color depends alot on the angle you view them....

due to the color shift from the lens. That being said, mine seem quite blue when I look at them, and when I notice other Audis on the road, they look pretty blue to me, too.

Never noticed them to be yellow.
