Why wouldn't an Audi dealer certify an RS6 with under 8,000 miles?

I'm not saying you're wrong I was just wondering. Are you saying that you would need 3 trannies, 2 short blocks and 2 sets of turbos in the 2nd 50k miles (we are talking about an extended warranty here) or over the whole 100,000 miles. Also keep in mind that the RS-6 probably only costs maybe $10,000 more to manufacture than an A6 with similar trim so there is already a huge amount built in for warranty work.
As an aside; a rule of thumb in the auto industry is that the cost to manufacture a car is about 1/3 the sales price. This number goes up as the cost of the vehicle goes up. The second rule is evendent in the RS-6 when you consider that you or I could buy the parts to make an A6 4.2 into an RS 6 for less than the difference in price between the 2. In addition Audi clearly pays a fraction of what we would have to to buy their parts and they don't throw away the original parts that were upgraded (brakes, wheels tires, suspension etc.)
The cost to Audi to replace turbos is almost entirely labor, a significant cost, but the cost of the parts is a few hundred dollars not the couple of thousand that you pay if you buy a K04 at your local dealer. A tranny costs you over $10,000 but probably cost Audi a couple of thousand. How do I know this? Look at the price of the cars that these parts come on. You can buy VW with the 1.8 turbo motor and tiptronic for less than $20k. Audi only charges maybe $2k for quattro. A VW Toureg with 4.2 V8, base version, is just over $40k. Work the math and you see that the V-8 engine is not the reason the A6 4.2 or RS-6 cost what they do. The turbo 1.8 cost practically nothing on a Jetta so we know putting turbos on the car doesn't cost much. How much more do you think a 3.2 V-6 costs than a 2.8 or 3.0 V-6 but a TT with 3.2 V-6 costs a bunch more than a 1.8t.
I am getting way off topic here but the point is that I think Audi could probably afford to give Audi Assured on an RS-6 unless they know that there are serious reliability issues on the car. I think more likely they don't feel they need to give the Audi assured to sell them.

With 450 HP on tap....things are going to break....especially a ZF tranny with "lifetime fluid" in it.....
That's it. Audi should probably charge 10-15K for the extended warranty, that's what it's going to take to maintain (if anything major goes down).

something to me.
"No signs of collision" just jumped out at me..and a "major"? collision would mean "No Audi Certified".
Or the dealer just went with the balance of the factory warranty which may be better than the Audi Certified deal.
I really don't know. I am a used car bottom feeder small fish in the pond kind of guy.
