Default Will same year A6's with different MAF's have same ECU?? Please look!!!!!!!

I want to trade my ECU to someone with the same year and model car, BUT...

We both have 2001 2.7T 6 speed cars. Both our ECU's have the same main part number 4B0 907 551 AA.

BUT... his car came with a BOSCH MAF, and my car came with a HITACHI MAF.

Isn't that odd? Will the ECU's interchange and operate both cars just fine??

Please help...

i can't imagine it's an issue. i believe the hitachi came on MY 01 and up, bosch was up to 00....if you go to ECS and look at their MAF's, the connector location is centered on the bosch and off to the side on the hitachis - aside from that, i don't think there are any other differences, besides, if he has the same ecu as you and his works with it, then there's no reason yours shouldn't. i think the bosch brand was less reliable, hence the switch to hitachi - which doesn't mean there isn't a bosch version for later years as well....someone chime in if i'm off here

i thought they read completly opposite of each other like 5th wire is the signall on bosch and 1st wire on hitachi , or something like that. not 100 percent on the ecu, a sensor is a sensor its all just voltage anyways

So you think it would be a swap that would work for both of us regardless of the MAF brand?

Otherwise, I will have to find someone with a 4B0 907 551 AA that came with the Hitachi MAF also...

It doesnt matter on my end because I have Eurodyne so I can change my "new" stock ECU I get to whatever I need.

I just dont want whoever ends up with mine to find out it wont run right with their Bosch MAF.

If anyone wants my GIAC unit let me know.
