Can someone suggest a good place to get a windshield replacement in MA/NH area. I was going to bring it to the dealership until I learned that they dont do it themselves but contract it out through 3rd party, and for that reason my insurance company (Geico)wont pay for it through the dealer unless the dealer installs it themselves, they said they won't pay for surcharges from dealerships that do third party windshield replacements. I want the job done right so I'm skeptical about going through any Joe Schmo windshield company, any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance.

I've had 4 or 5 windshields done by Donny Cotton, the owner of Wellesley GlassSmith, in Wellesley.
I've watched or helped with each one...he's a master at removing old glass without damaging the paint or metal, and properly installing the new glass.
And importantly, I've owned cars for *years* after he's done the windshield - no rust, no leaks, no problems.
Highly recommended.
Oh, and here's a tip - have the glass done at your house so that you can then let it sit for a day or two. That way the caulking can set up properly and form a strong bond between the glass and the body. The glass *is* a structural part of the body.

I used Settles in Needham for my '04 allroad.
They did a great job. The car was only a month old when the crack happened, so I had my reservations about having to go outside the dealer. Looked great when I picked it up. No glue drips or mess, stickers all back where they were (even my dump sticker) and ready when they said. I left it there for an extra 6 hours to set. 14months later and there are no problems (no leaks or loose trim, rearview mirror still solidly attached). They have multiple locations, so I can't vouch for the others.
Whichever one you chose, I recommend you bring the car to the glass place to do the work in the garage bay so you don't have to worry about the weather. And when it's done, don't slam any doors for a couple of days because that puts a lot of pressure on the new glue seal.

I have mine done in my driveway or garage (depending on the weather) and leave the car parked there for two days. And you're right, leave the windows cracked open (or better).
And btw, I put my dump sticker on some saran wrap so I can easily remove it in November...
