Wipers stop in the up position. A few desperate pumps on the wiper stalk later, they restart. Anyone have this? WIper motor? Wiper linkage? These intermittent problems are driving me crazy.

Sounds like the wiper motor itself. It has a switch in the motor that shuts it off when its in the down position. If it quits while in the up position, the switch must have a open circuit causing the motor to stop.

For sure wiper motor, had exact symptoms on mine. Eventually scored a used motor to save $$, works to this day.
