Default WooHoo! (and I'm not happy about it.)

Last night and this AM I noticed a "new" sound. When I accelerate hard, and then lift throttle, I hear a faint, but clear WOOHOO from under the hood. Performance seems fine otherwise. Could this be a "normal" sound that I'm just noticing, or could it be the dreaded BPVs? (I have the oldest/nastiest part # BPVs.)

(We're talking about a 2000 2.7T, of course.)

Default

Sounds like the "tea kettle" sound of BPVs?

Default I hear a chirp when I let off the throttle...

This occurs above 70ish mph.

Default When mine went south there was a definite loss in performance and

in some cases power would just cut out. Generally with a bad BPV, TBB, leak in the intake (after turbo) I would expect a change in performance (losing boost). On the other side of the turbos specifically the air filter box or the tubing on the non- pressurized side could have a leak, letting sound out but not changing performace. Have you changed air filter recently, maybe not sealed up all the way or split tubing? Just thoughts hard to do virtual troubleshooting...

Default That would happen to me all the time...

My 2001 2.7T used to do that almost every time I started the car (after no use overnight), backed down my driveway and engaged drive. On my 1st acceleration the sound would sound like "Whaooo". It would only do this once (or at most twice) and was almost always when the car was "cold".
Interestingly, I heard it for the first time on my 2003 2.7T - same situation.
Dont know what it is, but doesnt seem to persist once car is warmed up.
