I think I may have a problem with my Xenon headlights on my 2001 A6. I am new to Xenon headlights and the auto leveling feature. When I turn on the lights for the first time I notice that the right side headlight is lower than the left by about 5-6 inches in the pattern that is showing on the garage door from about 5 feet away. The right side light then slowly moves up level with the left. But on the roadway the lights seem to be aimed really low, pointing at the ground, at what seems like right in front of the car. Now my question is is there something wrong with the auto levelers or are the lights just aimed really low, or am I seeing things wrong since I am new to the Xenon headlight thing?

Oh, I do have to park on a hill in the driveway.

My 03 does the same thing.. dealer "can't replicate the problem"

I had the same issue.....I adjusted the lights using my VAG according to the link below. Solved the problem.

Dealer fixed it once for me and now it is back. Starts out fine then drops to the ground while driving. It is a real pain in the *** and dangerous on dark roads.

OK, let's get real remedial. My '01 lights up great, but I've never seen any of this "leveling" business. They just turn on. I've parked next to an '03 and lit the same wall at the same time, and by golly, the '03 lights self-align. Neat! So would the non-movement of lights on the '01 be related to the at-least-once-per-day bright flashings that I get from oncoming cars?
