how hard is it to change my high beams on a 99 2.8 with the factory xenons......what bulb do I need...
I am sure the high beams are not xenons...which after market one looks good with the xenons...I am thinking of upgrading although I know that the yellowish tint of the fogs and high beams complements the purple nicely...
let me know!

You can't just change the bulb. You need a separate ballast which generates about 23,000 volts to ignite the Xenon gas bulbs. There are two woutes: There is a conversion kit you can buy, which will require some cutting of the weather covers on the back of headlamp assembly.
And you will have to find a place to mount the ballasts. These xenon bulbs have modified bases, so that they can mate with your halogen fitting.
The drawback is that projectors in the halogen lamps you now have are not suited for xenon bulbs.
You might end up with a lot of glare, and inefficient illumination.
The other altenative is to buy OEM Xenon housings for the car. Either find them used, or buy them from Clair Parts for $539 each. They will come complete with ballast and bulbs. They are plug and play with your existing headlamp wiring.
The only thing that will not work are the auto levelers, since your car is not a factory Xenon set-up, but I think the issue about non-working levelers is less critical than not having the correct projectors for xenon bulbs.

...to the OEM HID kit using all Audi parts. It was quite expensive, but well worth it. It isn't a matter of changing bulbs, because you have a lot of parts to change. If you get a complete package you shouldn't have to do any cutting, simply removal and replacement.
