I get 400-430 miles per tank with a 3.2Q. That's mixed driving, about 21-22 mpg average through about 10 tanks of gas. It could be a bit better but I got a heavyish foot and the autobahn is nearby.

My '06 A6 Avant gets 25 – 27 MPG on the highway in the summer, somewhat less in the winter. Around town in mixed city/highway driving, 21 – 22 MPG.

When the car was new, we could do close to 29 or 30 mpg on the highway if held under 70 mph. That gave the car a 600 mile range and I did repeat that a couple of times.

As the carbon builds up, I think we'd be lucky to see someting in the 26-27 mpg range.

I see 27-28 with mine on the highway at say 75-78 mph. 26 at 80 or so mph.

Wow, you guys are getting fantastic MPGs.

I'm in CA so I can only fill with 91 octane but I get around 330-350 with mostly city driving and a heavy foot (i.e. 17.5 mpg) and around 400 miles with mostly freeway and some city (i.e. 20 mpg).

I'm guessing I have some carbon buildup issues to address. However, with no codes, it's hard to get Audi to sack up and do the work under warranty.

Do you have a rough start in the morning when the car is cold (cold for Calif)? Another sign of carbon build-up.

What tire pressure are you running too? I use 93 octane here along with 39/41 psi for the tires.

I have done 550-560 miles on a full tank of gas before refueling.
I probably had about 30-40 miles left.
I have done 27+ MPG on my A6 Avant.

I have actually seen the computer say I have 680 - 700 miles range, but the truth somewhere around 520 - 580. This is mostly highway driving.
