Default '06 C6 A6 Shocks

So, I have 135K and recently replaced front control arms and stabilizer links. Made such a huge difference. However, now, I think a new set of shocks would tightn the ride that much more. Does anyone have any first hand beta about shocks. After a quick look online it seems like Bilsteins are OEM's. Did anyone upgrade or did you stick with the OEM model?

OEM is actually Monroe. When I replaced mine the Monroe name is actually stamped on the shocks. I went with Koni FSDs. They improved both the ride and the handling. Tire Rack has a nice write up on them.

Koni FSD's hands down with stock or sport springs and H&R sways = great ride and pretty good handling.

And, I didn't even think about it before I posted this thread, but if I do the shocks I should do the springs, too, huh? Which ones do you recommend?

Springs last a life time. I would leave them as is unless you want to lower the car.

Just got my shocks delivered today. I was able to find the Koni FSD's for $630 for the set of 4 including delivery. I will hopefully have them installed next week with my longtime private mechanic.

I also threw a mil so ran a VAG scan and had a bunch of codes. The light was from a fuel sensor code. The other codes seemed to be some rogue ones....which I think are associated with my battery being original still. (Almost 7 years old). So, I found an OEM battery from the dealer was the same price as Autozone's Platinum model. So, I bought it and will put in the battery this weekend or maybe tomorrow evening. I also cleared the codes and it hasn't thrown the MIL again yet after 3 days of commuting this week.

Unless you have H&R and live in the northeast.
