Default '06 C6: Cigarette plug issue

Guys, the cigarette lighter plug on our '06 wagon has gone dead and it's not the fuse. I know this outlet was working when we got the car as I had my GPS plugged into it for my long drive home and all was fine. However, the outlet is no longer supplying power and I'm not really keen on taking that center console apart. (This is the outlet that's under the wooden door, not under the armrest.)

Thanks for any suggestions or places to look.

First, (you prob already did) make sure you try another charger from another device. The plugs are pretty cheap and some don't work real well.

Thanks for the reply. I did verify the device works fine in another car. I'll try a different device in the Audi to see what the status is.

Resolved.

OK, I got this figured out. I started pulling every fuse out of the panel and inspecting. It wasn't long 'til I found a 20A fuse that was fried. This particular fuse was labeled "cigarette plug, passenger side". Fuse renewed, all appears well

I had a similar problem. The folks at the dealership strongly suggested using the one under the armrest instead of that one.

I am not sure I'm aware of an outlet here "outlet that's under the wooden door, " - does anyone have a pic?

By wooden door, do you mean the center arm rest? I know there is a cup holder there... and also an outlet.

No. I am referring to the cup holder right behind the MMI buttons. You push down the "wooden door" and it pops up to reveal a cup holder and a cigarette lighter.
