That's a highly involved process; we're talking cuting out and replacing entire panels on the car. It's doable- and in fact, has been done on an avant. You're talking at least $30k worth of work.

I'm in the process of doing this to my 2006 3.2 Avant. Mike is right, there is a lot of work and a lot of money involved in doing this, especially as if your like the guy from Sweden and me and changing the colour of the car too.
I have managed to source alot of my parts used so far (front bumper, headlights, aluminium bonnet, side skirts, rear doors, fuel cap, rear bumper, grills), and I am just struggling to find the front and rear wings used. The car is going in to the bodyshop for 2 weeks solid work at the end of December, and if I don't find the front / rear wings before then, there going to come from Audi brand new (costing about 1400 GBP).
For you guys in the US, the sedan is your only real option for this conversion, as I don't think you guys have the RS6 Avant over there. Unless you want to get the parts shipped from Europe, and you'll need the side skirts, rear quarter panels (may be impossible if the fuel filler cap is on the other side), rear bumper, and maybe the rear doors.
It is a huge and costly job, but I feel its going to be worth it.
I'm going to start a build diary in December and update it with all my progress, so watch out, and you can see how much effort it will take to get your RS6 lookalike.
