Badziewo is correct. The proper sequence for cars with ESP is:
1 - Left front brake caliper
2 - Right front brake caliper
3 - Left rear brake caliper
4 - Right rear brake caliper
This is different from older cars. r1racer's instructions need to be updated.

Interesting, my Bentley Repair Manual for 2005 - 2008 A6 has the following bleeding sequence:
Sequence and Brake Fluid Capacity Table
Right rear 200 ml
Left rear 200 ml
Right front 200 ml
Left front 200 ml
Total amount 1000 ml
This sequence is taken directly from the maintenance service procedure section. It makes no distinction for vehicles w/ or w/o ESP. So, I am not sure why others here are referencing Audi/Bentley repair manuals that state otherwise than mine. Thoughts? BTW, I've always used this sequence on all of my cars for the last 35+ years.

No, it's not always the case. I've seen other VAG products that specify the opposite of what's considered traditional (starting at the furthest point). The distinction is the ABS unit and the configuration of the lines running from it.

I did a flush so I'm sticking with what I posted as there were no problems doing it that way. It makes more sense to me anyway. Like Eric mentioned, it maybe possible that the other order is for bleeding or just a simple error in Bentley.

Mystery solved, found the difference in Group 47. The front–to–back sequence is for bleeding the ESP hydraulic unit, the rear–to–front sequence is for bleeding for a fluid change of the complete system (the 2–yr maintenance service). Bentley also states to apply pedal pressure if necessary to support bleeding the ESP hydraulic unit.

Thank you all for your help!
I got a presssure bleader and followed the Audi directions, several of you had posted, with success. Also, I took the advice and replaced the fluid as it had been longer than 2 years since this was last done.
Thanks again for the help.
