Today while I was driving my 3.2 2006 A6 the car started shaking a bit. It was as if the engine did not want to accelerate as usual. The check engine light flashes so I am guessing it is a misfire but I don't know what exactly to do.

Without a VCDS scan we're just guessing on what it could be.

Could be a simply air leak at the throttle body or a misfire caused by plug or coil pack or something REALLY bad. A flashing CEL is a VERY bad thing though and I'd be checking things out before I started the engine up again.

I have been fighting this issue myself. The first visit to the shop exposed multiple misfires on #3, and both exhaust camshaft positions sensors. After replacing both sensors and the 3# plug, it ran fine for about 3 weeks. It went back to the shop again yesterday for the same symptoms. This time the #2 plug was misfiring, with no other codes. All of my plugs and coils are Audi parts and have about 10,000 miles on them. I am curious if the symptoms will return.
