Front of my friends 2006 A6 4.2 is 'down'.
Car not driveable.
Arnott does not seem to offer aftermarket air bags for the A6 C6 suspension (used to get those for my Allroads).

What solutions are available?
Aftermarket?
Or OEM replacement only?

I will go to the car this morning, run VAGcom. See if I can cheat the height control system manual to at least rise a bit to be able to drive the car to my place for further investigation, check for leaks. But need to prepare with parts information to order needed parts quickly.

I looked for the part. Prices vary from ca. $700 (rebuild) to $1300 new. Haven't found much used (which can be a 'box of chocolate'), and if so, prices way too high to take the risk.

Rebuild quotes I received were from Vancouver (had my part listed) and Florida (they only listed A8, but when asked, they said they have A6; I assume there is a lot of cross referencing between A8 and A6).

Hope the part gets here by end of this week.

I believe some parts are interchangeable between A6 4.2 and A8. Hope you get some good working ones and be up and running by the end of the weekend.
