2007 A6 Bluetooth Pairing

Don't be discouraged.
A lot of folks here get impatient and impolite. Take a close look at my signature instruction on how to reset the MMI. As I said, I have the exact same phone and the exact same pairing issue. Read my reply above. Once you have paired once with the car - it is now all in the phone. I've seen the same screens that you are referring to.
Best of luck.
BTW, I can't wait to chuck the phone in a year (new every two).

Thanks for the help but no joy
Thanks to those who have chimed in with suggestions. I've tried them all MANY times.
I've about convinced myself it has to be something with the Audi MMI. At the Verizon store today, we tried 2 different phones, one by a manufacturer other than LG, with the same results. My wife's phone behaves exactly the same way (same phone as mine). The issue is that though I can get the phone to pair (after 2 or 3 password entries and other keypresses), I have to go through the same ritual each time I enter the car. If I "unpair" the phone but leave the car running, it WILL re-pair with no password entry. As soon as I turn the car off, then back on, off we go into password repetition again.
When it was in the dealership, they said they tested it and it works. Since I've seen at least 4 different model #s and at least 5 phones fail to work right, I'm thinking it must be the car.
Perhaps I have old MMI software that is buggy? How do I check my rev, and how do I know whether there is new software available?
Thanks,
Stu

Are you following my EXACT instructions?
Assumption - Paired once and worked, doesn't automatically re-pair.
1. Phone must be OFF!!!!
2. Start car, leave car running.
3. Turn Phone on.
4. Select tools, option #7 Blue tooth.
5. Select Audi to Pair.
It pairs. (or it should!)
If phone is on, turn it off, then back on, then do steps 4. and 5.
I have 33.6 MMI and same phone.

Thanks for your patience
Well, this wasn't exactly what I was doing, but I tried it after receiving your step by step directions. Thanks a lot.
Unfortunately, no luck. I have the same software revision, or at least I see SW: C6-HU 33.6.0 0632
What I get when I do this is a sequence of events that looks something like:
LG - "Pairing request from Audi UHV 1682" - Yes/No
Me - "Yes"
LG - "Paired Successfully"
LG - PIN entry field
Me - enter PIN (the correct one, treble checked)
LG - "Improper Pairing" or somesuch
Me - Launch the pairing cycle again
...
This kind of thing goes on thru 2 or 3 PIN entries, and eventually the LG and car pair.
Me - Turn off phone (car running)
Me - Turn on phone
LG - "Pairing request from Audi UHV 1682" Yes/No
...
loop starts all over again w/ multi PIN entries...
The only time I've seen these guys pair seemlessly is when I press the "OK" button when the Audi is selected (when its paired), causing an "unpairing". Then, without doing anything else, I press the "OK" button (on LG) again, causing a re-pairing. In only that case, the re-pair occurs w/ no PIN entry. If I then shut off car & turn it back on, I'm back in the PIN entry loop again.
Incidentally, I wonder if we have different sw revs in our phones - my bluetooth option is #3 in the tools menu.

Works with '06 A6, '08 Q7
Just went down to Audi & tried this on an '06 A6 and on an '08 Q7. Worked perfectly with my phone, seemlessly re-pairing upon restart of the car.
I think that makes a strong case that the car's bluetooth is broken, especially since multiple phones have the same problem with my car.
Thanks to "pierreb" & "Johnstay" for all of the helpful suggestions!
