2007 A6 Bluetooth Pairing

Re: 2007 A6 Bluetooth Pairing
I think this saga is over, but I know I'm jinxing myself by saying so. Here's what happened:
The suggestion that the BT module was bad proved to be correct. I convinced the Audi dealer that it was a problem with all phones, not just mine. The ordered the BT module probably around the time of my last post - 5/11/08. It came in last week and was installed Monday - 7/20/08. The auto re-connect issue seemed to be fixed. Unfortunately, I didn't check other stuff prior to leaving the dealership. When I actually try to place a call I get a VERY noisy audio connection (though inteligible). I take it back in today, and the "recalibrate" it, whatever that means. Now I have clear audio. Then, I notice that it keeps asking my phone to "authorize" the pairing request, this about 30 seconds after seemingly re-pairing perfectly. This happens no matter what I try...UNTIL I do 2 things - reset the MMI AND try the advice given in the posting to power up the phone AFTER the car is turned on. After I did that, the "authorization" requests seemed to have quit happening. Perhaps this is consistant with the behavior seen by the poster who urged me to follow his EXACT directions. I can't recall his name as I type, but I sure do appreciate the explicit directions. Knock on wood, but I think I'm finally back to the functionality I had when I first got the car, which is really great.

Re: I have the exact same phone and issue - Here's my work around:
Johnstay,
FYI - now that Audi installed a new bt module, the behavior you describe here is pretty much exactly what I get. It pairs up much of the time, but once in awhile I have to cycle the phone, or go into the bt menu and force a pair, then it auto pairs for awhile again. This is a big improvement over what was going on before. Now at least it pairs up without the pin entry, and it pairs up the first time, and it auto pairs much of the time.
