It won't be that fast. The GS430 with rear wheel drive is slower. It won't get the 306 hp IS version, it will probably get the ES350 V6 with 270 hp. Unless, they put in a bigger V8 at the same time as the old one only has 300 hp as well.

Wow, seems like the AWD version is going to be under 6 sec at the very least, since the AWD vs. RWD differential generally is small for Lexus. I wonder if Lexus is using short gearing. Anyway, I prefer the handling of Audi and their superior Quattro system, but I'm sure these quick 0-60 runs will bring people into Lexus showrooms.

It could be Torsen or Haldex and I believe each has it's own characteristics.
And how is it superior if it results in more drivetrain and power losses?
Just curious - I know there's the audiworld search answer but have you driven other AWD systems?

The vast majority of AWD Audi's are torsen. Only the TT and A3 use Haldex which is cheaper but lighter. I have driven other AWD systems and they don't have near the traction of the traditional Audi quattro in snow or heavy rain. There is a good video somewhere where a TV crew tried to drive an Audi Allroad, BMW 3 series, BMW X5, Lexus RS, and a Volvo up a snow covered hill. Only the Audi made it up. Unfortunately, torsen usually is the heaviest solution and thus hurts 0-60.
