The new S6 will have a 5.5L V10 (with FSI, of course) producing 500 hp and 413 lbs/ft of torque. The new RS 6 will also have the 5.5L FSI V10. Reports are saying that this engine will produce 560 hp and 435 lbs/ft of torque in the new RS 6. With the new trend toward RS models being lighter weight than comparable S models, the new RS 6 will be 120-180 pounds lighter than the new S6, making the mere 60 hp gap and even more mere 22 lb/ft torque gap between the two cars plenty sufficient. Keep the following in mind: the 5.5L FSI V10 in the new S6 and RS 6 is all new and not the same as the V10 in the Lambourghini Gallardo. The all new 5.5L FSI V10 in both the new S6 and RS 6 will have V8 size, weight and space efficiency and will be normally aspirated with high revving capabilities (9,000 RPM redline I believe) and have lots of state of the art technology (too much to list here) that, hopefully, all of which will be coupled with excellent reliability and, hopefully, largely boosted fuel economy with much, much lower emissions and excellent all around performance.
