2007 S6 - Extended Warranty

When I bought my S6 off lease in January, I discussed this with my dealer's F&I person. I think the quote was about $2,400 or so for 2 years/100k miles though I could be wrong. She suggested, however, that I wait until the warranty has more than a month left and/or the car has less than 36k miles to get the best deal. If you go off the factory warranty and then do an aftermarket one...they will nail you. The premium amounts apparently jump at 10k mileage intervals; 25k, 35k, 45k, etc. I'll be in the market in November!

Just bought a Fidelity Platinum warranty 3/36 for $3500 on an '03 RS6. The car has 12k miles and is already at the dealer for some big ticket items: Upper and Lower control arms and tranny light illuminated when the Fidelity rep was there.
I'll let you know what happens. I have a bad feeling about this.

You can still pursue your case regardless what the rep says for coverage as long as you haven't modded it too heavy.

2007 Audi S6 with 49k miles - still under warranty.
Audi Platinum (Fidelity Warranty Services)
3/36 - $2673
4/48 - $3682
Cash price.
12 month installment add $150 to the cost.
Linearly prorated refund with some $50? cancellation fee.
Transferable with a $50 fee.
See attached PDF for the file I got.
I called 4 dealers in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. 3 responded. This price was by far the best I got. The finance manager said their strategy is to charge $100 over cost of the warranty and make it up during the service repairs. In that case you may want to say you are moving to Dallas for a work relocation. He said I could do all the paperwork over the phone as long as my car had been serviced at an Audi dealer (45k) so that they could pull up the VIN record.
Good luck.

On attached file, the $3682 is for 36/36... Am I missing something? Are you saying that he quoted you a warranty for extra 4 years and 48K miles for $3682? Please confirm, thanks!

Well, the time came. It was a rude awakening to realize that my AC compressor seized and the flap in my intake manifold crapped out in the same time. Car is still under warranty, but all the work required for the engine to come out and new updated parts to go back in. I was told that those two things are the weakest link on the S6 and that the new parts should make the car bullet proof. But that didn't give me much of peace of mind once I heard the engine was on a crate. I could only imagine how much that would cost out of warranty.
So... Called up a dealer in another state and got Fidelity 4YR/60K for $4,807 and no tax. Figured it is worth the price for a peace of mind for the next 2 years I will be driving this thing.
