Default 2008 A6 3.2L - Judders at low speeds

Hey guys, I was wondering if you'd be able to help me out in determining the cause of my problem...

When I start my car and am going slow (light foot on the accelerator) it starts to judder with the RPM moving up and down from 1100rpm to 1200rpm. Once the engine warms up or moves into a higher gear (or goes fast... SOMETHING), it no long has the problem.

Any thoughts?

search and read up here and the other forums. likely your torque converter, of course that is just a guess based on not knowing mileage or service history.

I've been doing my best to search here (and other forums) for similar things... I think I'm simply searching using the wrong phrases and words and whatnot. I had read that it might be the sparkplugs (with the misfire causing the jerky forward movement) and I'd rather it be that than the torque converter.

My mileage is around 107k and it's been regularly serviced.

I doubt plugs based on your very specific rpm range that has issue.
107k is about right for problem to surface. if regular service means following the Audi schedule then you have never changed the trans fluid and that may or may not attenuate the problem. I think Kevin who posted just above this one changed the fluid thrice and still ended up replacing the TC.
But here's a thread on how to change the fluid if you want to try that for starters (again, I do not claim this will solve your issue).

Also, the CTSC (Klaus) was very helpful and may be able to provide some additional insight on the TC.

You are correct. I did replace the fluids every 40k miles and I still got bit by the torque converter.
