Hi, I have a 2009 Audi A6 3.0T Avant that I just bought. It has the aux input. How do I hook up an iPod to it? Can I control via the steering wheel controls? Finally, will the aux input also charge the iPod. If not, how can i charge the iPod at the same time as playing it without a cable running out of the glovebox (or is there a charger adapter in the glovebox?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You should just be able to purchase cable 4F0051510 and replace the aux cable in the glove box. This cable will charge the iPod and let you control it through the MMI. The cable is rather short so the iPod has to stay in the glove box unless you buy a third party extension cable.

Thanks again! Sorry, I miss that initially. Is it okay to order this cable from Amazon, or is it best to get it from the Audi dealership (it's the part # you mentioned)...

The two reviews are bad. I would be a little careful with iPod cables. Apple requires that any cable which connects to the docking port have an Apple supplied ID chip and that the design be approved by Apple. I am sure the Audi cables meet these requirements - I am not so sure about these cheap Chinese knock offs. Amazon has a good return policy if you buy direct but this is through a third party so if you want to try it make sure you can return it if there is a problem.
