Hello All,

Was wondering if the 3.2 FSI engines are susceptible to oil pump failures over time.

I have a 3.2 FSI in my 08' A4 and posted a thread there but vast majority of A4s tend to be 2.0 TFSI so limited responses. In my research I see that perhaps the 3.2 is more common in the A6 or other models.

Developed what I am assuming is rod knock and if correct my first root cause assumption would be an oil pressure issue. Will be doing specific tests and likely will need to tear into the engine... thought I'd see if others have seen or heard of rod bearing and/or oil pump failure issues on the 3.2 FSI power plants as I start to build a more complete picture.
