I have a 2007 Audi A6 Avant 3.2, no aftermarket parts installed with 170K miles. I recently started having issues that don't seem to be in mechanical in nature. Car runs fine, no sputtering or rough idle, and accelerates like a charm.
All regular maintenance have been done on schedule and accurately; however the car randomly decides to not start once a week. it cranks over easily but no light. I then look around the engine bay and check if anything is broken and nada. then i go and try to start it again and it starts, no faults. other times there are faults but the clear by themselves.
And this week it decides to throw a lot of codes, electrical i believe, and doesn't want to accelerate or change gears. I pull over shut the car down and wait ten minutes, codes are still there but car starts and accelerates normally again…Im lost
Ive taken it to the dealer and after a lot of money…changing EVAP pump and ECU, they said that the faults are repeating and the milage on the car wouldn't be worth any further repairs.
How old is your battery? Has it ever been replaced? Since you're not seeing the dreaded 09220 (P2404) EVAP DTC (which is caused by defect in the ECM), and all the posted DTCs are associated with shorting to ground (earth), I suspect a short in the battery and/or positive wiring circuit. Start with the battery thru the energy management module, and see if there is a chaffed wire on positive circuit.
