Default A6 extesively revised next year?

From Edmund's review of the new A4- read the last sentence:

The eighth-generation Audi A4 also rides on a wheelbase that has increased 6.6 inches in length to 110.6 inches, just 1.5 inches shorter than the wheelbase of the larger and more expensive A6 (itself due to be revised extensively next year).

Default Audi uses a 6 to 7 year cycle on models. The A6 came out in '05. While there is a facelift

in the works, along with some mechanical tweaks, and all new chassis is not happening any time soon.

The A7 will have the chassis. The new one will probably come after it.
