Today on Yahoo! I saw an ad created by Ford, pitting the Ford Tauras SHO vs. A6 4.2. The SHO won the straightline of course, (cause it was a Ford campaign). However, I noticed that on the webpage, where it displayed the 0-60: the SHO was 6.07 and A6 was 6.97. To me, that A6 0-60 is the time for the 3.2. However, I don't see that written anywhere on the site. I'm tired of this false advertising by American car companies.

I would like to see this shoot out done by an independent company. I guess we are to just believe that ford drove that A6 as hard as possible. I'm sure.

The new Taurus is Fords Premier car...yes, they'd like to compare it to an A6 just as Hyundai wanted their best to be compared to a Lexus..it's pure marketing.

actually, that car is rather quick. It hits the quarter mile in 13.8 seconds. Edmunds got 0-60 in 7.1 seconds from a 4.2L. What was Audi's official 0-60 time?

The SHO, at $45k had better be rather quick! You could get a new S4 or 335i for that.

That is true. Those other cars are also smaller, way smaller. That is one thing I don't like about the Taurus. I sat in one and it is bigger than our A6. Just felt. wrong.

has anyone bought a bone-stock s4 for 45k? i have yet to see one on a dealer lot for under 52k... (and i've looked latelty). granted i'm sure you could order an S4 online with the basic package for 45.9k... but it doubtful you'll find a brand new s4 on a dealer lot for less than 52k... just my .02 since i've seen peeps saying s4's are only 45k...

I would rather a bone stock S4 (any audi really) than any fully loaded ford. Also, if you can't afford $52k, then can you really afford $45k? If money is that tight why are you buying a luxury car.

I've been to the LA Auto show and I can tell you point blank, you'll be very surprised at the Ford and GM lineup parked right next to the so called top makers or used to be top makers..things have definitely changed. If you don't think a company can change, then you know nothing about Audi's history not to mention others. Ford and GM could easily have been building the best cars in the world long ago... but when you let accounts and greed run a company... nuff said. We'll see
