Decided to post here instead of wheel and tire forum. Sorry, maybe that's a mistake. I can repost there if recommended.
Anyway, I've read a few threads, but I'm not sure what direction I want to go. I need to put new tires on my 18's (I'm running on 19's for the summer) soon. I don't want to get stuck with my new 19's still on once the snow starts flying.
I am going to go with a dedicated set for winter on these (stock) 18's. Any thought on favorite snow tires for the A6 3.2Q? I live in Ohio, so we definitely get snow. I'll go back to my 19's next spring.

we've got the newer Continental offering on our Avant. Very good in the snow, quiet
, appear to be wearing well.
I'm about to buy for the A4. I think I'm going with the Michelin Xice Xi2. Supposed to be good.
To be honest, I've used snow tires from all the prominent mfrs and have never had issue with any of them. I guess my only complaint (nit-pick) is that some would be noisier than others on wet (rain) pavement. Not a big deal.

Dunlop Winter Sport 3D here, not XL though... Run these on my wife's BMW for her winter set-up. Thinking about going with the ConT ExtremeWinterContacts next and these are XL rated tires. Happy with the Dunlops, just thinking a more ice/snow tire would be best next.

I have a 2009 A6 Quattro and am also going with a separate set of dedicated winter wheels and snow tires. I just found used a set of 2003 Audi 17 x 7.5 wheels that fit but they do not have the tire pressure monitor sensors.
My question - can the tpms in my '09 A6 be disabled so it doesn't cause issues? I thought I recalled reading they could be turned off, but I not certain if that is for all model years? If so, what is the recommended procedure?
Thanks
Kenreau
