I have a 2005 A6 with the bi-xenon adaptive lights. They're supposed to turn several degrees to the side at speeds over 20 mph when the car turns. I can't really see any change or movement in the lighting as I go around curves. The dealer tells me they're working fine (although the car was stationary in daytime when the dealer looked).
What should I expect to see? Is the lights' movement noticeable?
Thanks

I can watch the headlights adjust themselves up and down. I have noticed that driving at highway speeds, I tend not to notice the adaptive lights so much. When driving on side roads - up to 50 mph, I can see the lights turn left and right slightly. Most people riding with me notice the lights returning to straight ahead.

The effect is more dramatic on curvaceous, dark, mountain roads, and very noticeable with high-beams turned on (being mindful of oncoming traffic however). Try it in a dark parking garage with high-beams on (preferably a deserted parking garage), even at slow speeds, you can see the swiveling action.

Doesn't the movement going up and down have more to do with auto-leveling function? The one question I wanted to ask is does anyone notice their lights flicker when seeing the reflection off the object in front (car/wall)? I notice my lights are constantly adjusting (up and down) when driving. I don't notice it when driving on the open road but when driving behind a car, I can see my lights flickering. Is this normal?

try driving straight at 25 mph on a wide open, deserted road...then suddenly jerk the wheel (just a little like 1 - 2 inches) back and forth and you will see the headlights suddenly move the same.
To make it easier to see, you may want to put a sticker on the headlight so you can better see the moving shadow...
P.S. Don't blame me if you get into an accident trying this...

whenever my wife drove the A6 over uneven roads behind me. The light beams just bouncing up and down so much and so fast that it seems more like loose mounting than the lights doing auto adjustment.

will turn in that direction. Slow down (below 9mph) while still turning, and you will see the light straighten out. Try a turn in the other direction and you'll see the other headlight do the same.
I believe only the headlight on the side in which you're turning will move in that direction, not both.
