Adjusting the pedal height????

Hi all,
I came back to Audi recently with a 3.2 avant, as soon as I collected the car I suddenly remembered about the pedals being different heights.
The gas pedal is over an inch lower than the brake pedal, now as soon as I hit traffic or get into town I find I am getting serious cramp in my shin when on the brake.
I adjusted the seat back for the brake pedal but then find that the gas is slightly too far away so I started to make up an extender to raise the gas by 3/4" so they are almost level but driving around with the seat in this position I feel too far away from the dash anyway so think I need to get the brake pedal level with the gas instead.
I Have had the car for 3 months now and done 7000 miles hoping I would get used to it, but I'm not, I have started to use my M3 when I know I am going on longer journeys, going to be in traffic or going through town, which seems a bit sill really.
So any ideas?? Can you adjust the pedal height on these like you could on the C5??
It was the same with my S4, but thought it was cause it was a manual and that it was the brake vs clutch, that car only lasted 8 weeks, I really want to stick with this as in other areas as a big wallowy comfort mile muncher it works so well next to the M3.
Any help is most appreciated.

Only thing I can think of is to cut an inch or two out of the length of the gas pedal? Cut an inch or two out end weld it back together?
I'm not sure there is much else you could do as I know they're no adjustable. Good Luck

Sorry I meant B5 not C5, here is the thread......

Just wondering if something similar could be done on this??
If not I will add the extension to the gas, I found a pedal set while looking up info that raised the gas pedal and widened it towards the brake as well, obviously designed for so you could heel and toe but it would also get over this annoying design feature, but I lost the link.
Audi lowered the gas pedal after a US customer sued them for hitting the gas instead of the brake, this was supposed to make it harder for it to happen.
Not sure how true that is though??
