Advanced Key - Intermittent Problem
New A6 4.2 S-line here...
Have advanced key--it unlocks doors/truck fine but the 'start' button only works about 1/3rd of the time. Any thoughts? Similar experiences? (The dealer demo was doing the same thing.) Yes, I'm pressing the brake when attempting to start.
thx!

Re: This normally works...
ok, i pressed and held the stop button for five seconds....then pressed start and it started right up....has worked many times since then....thanks for the tip
one question though....am i to infer that the stop button was the one that was 'stuck'?

No. It can be any of the MMI buttons. Typically happens after the car
has been cleaned by someone who doesn't know what they're doing. A towel microwaved in purified, distilled water, placed over the MMI console (with the car off) tends to work. DO NOT do anything with the car if the MMI is wet!!!
If you just bought it, let the dealer figure it out.
In my case, it was the previous track button to the left of return.
