Hello everyone,
I have 2006 A6 and has 42k on it. As a summer is approaching, I turned on the air conditioner and it took me a while to have a cool air from the vent. About 5 min or so..
I am wondering if anybody has done the Air Conditioner Service at the dealer or any car shop.
Also, how much would be cost to fix the problem?
Thanks

hey man, i just noticed the same exact thing, today and a day or so ago. it took a while to come on.
i was wondering if im running low on freon, but then when it comes on it cools normally, like very cold at LO temp.
i hope someone has some ideas!

Now I dont know the answer just wondering out loud..... should you change the freon so you could lubricate the seals?
It probably normal if you had it off for whole winter. Try it a few times - it should be back to normal. As to the service - freon does not just leaves the system (at least not on Audi). I would assume that it is in place. You can check the pressure in any car shop. There is nothing special about it. You also can check condenser for any debris clogging the fins. And you can check that the cooling fan is turning on when AC is on.

so, i was parking the car earlier, and as i was waiting, i turned the AC on, and popped the hood open, and checked the fans. one of them was running, at slow to medium speed. the other one was still. also i checked the pipe for the freon and they were warm, idk if they are supposed to be cold .
also i remember my brother had a similar issue in in 02 Ranger rover, HSE, supposedly built by BMW back then, and all he needed was a Relay. cheap fix...
