Finally had a chance to do a quick detail on the car, and fool around in photoshop. Black out marker version and original below:

I would definitely like to ditch the front plate but laws are laws, and I can't really run the risk of getting yet another ticket

Haven't done anything yet. I just modified the picture in photoshop. I will ultimately go to a automotive shop and color match.

Understood. I'm supposed to have one here in IL. I don't and it hasn't been a problem yet (knock on wood!)

I just think the look so much better without a front plate and the filler.

well u know u can always get the tinted shield over your plate to add some balance in color...i did it for my girls lexus..and it looks way better than just a regular plate

I love the look without the front plate and filler panel as well. Is the filler plate removable on all, or is there some customization needed? I have a Black 2005 A6, my state does not require a front plate, is there a grill pattern underneth the filler? Thanks for the photoshop pic, helped me see how it would look.
