Default Any 2007 A6 owners - a favor to ask!

I just traded in my 2007 A6 S-Line for a new Q5 Prestige, and I'm trying to figure something out. When I got my A6, I was really annoyed by the fact that the volume in the MMI would reset to a specific level every time I turned it off and back on. I'm pretty sure I was able to find something in the A6 manual about how to disable that feature, 'cause it was definitely off when I traded in the car. However, with the new Q5, I'm back to having the volume reset itself every time I turn the car off and on again - but I can't find anything in the manual about how to disable this "feature." I'm pretty sure there was some key combination I pressed on the old (2007) A6 MMI when turning it on to fix this, but I can't remember (and I no longer have the manual).

So my question is this: can any 2007 A6 owner take a look at their manual (likely the MMI manual - the thinner one), and see if there is something in there about disabling the volume reset? I'm pretty sure that there is, and I'd like to give it a go on the Q5, just in case it happens to work.

Thanks in advance!

Intersting, I actually liked that about my old A4. I had it set so that when i turned on the car, the volume would drop to 5. This way it wasn't blasting or anything i left it up loud when i turned off the car.

If you figure out how to disable this, maybe that will give me a clue how to enable it.

Good luck!

Interesting...I never knew there was a way to set it up so that it reset to a lower (or higher) level. I'll check my manual and see what it says.

This was a setting that was available with my '03 (no MMI). I would like to know how to activate this feature in my '06.... I usually crank it up esp. with XM. Sometimes it blows me away when I get back in the car. :-)

Thanks, I'd appreciate it. I'd swear that there is something in the manual about it.
