allocation in the first place, and those that do order cars, will probably have orders from customers. It's an expensive bit of kit to pay flooring on, and dealers know customers will be specific about options, so they would rather order than have inventory sitting on lots. So even after the official launch, they will probably scarce.
All ABS (Audi Brand Specialists) have got the order guides already.

options, colors, more specific pricing, when first models will possibly arrive etc, didnt get much other than we will let you know when we have more info. that came from the sales manager. Until I can get more details I am hesitant to ask about putting a deposit down.

(those usually show up a month before the cars), but AoA has stated that the S6 should retail in the mid-70K range. Options appear to be few, as cars come pretty loaded. As for colours, those should be known by now.
Like I said, start cultivating a relationship with a local ABS (Every dealer has at least one), and they should be able to keep you up to date much better than us. They get the latest updates directly from AoA.

I wonder why Audi is so restrictive on interiors on the S-cars.
I have a Stratos blue/beige/birch A6 3.2 right now, and I have been playing with the idea of getting an S6 since it has been announced. I don't like black interiors in cars, they make the car seem smaller inside - plus, with the temperatures in the 100's down here in TX, I don't want to deal with the heat either (I would get the Warm Weather Package, had it on my A8L and loved it).
I don't like the silver interior either, the grey just doesn't do it for me, plus it usually comes with dark wood and dark color headliners and dashboards.
I like the friendly look of the beige with the light Birch wood. Why can I get this on a $50,000 A6 3.2 and not in a $75,000 S6 ??? The S4/RS4 seems to have the same issue. Honestly, if I plunk down that much money, I want the car to be EXACTLY the way I dream it to be in my head, not restricted by Audi's limited color choices. If I order the car, they should be able to do that for me ... at no extra charge, since what I want already exists on the regular A6.
Well, it's probably not a bad thing in the end, since it will keep me from doing crazy stuff ... like ordering one.

on special seats or stitching for this market which could preclude that choice. It does come with black headliner only though.
