Default Anybody else's rear defroster weak?

I've noticed my rear windshield defrosts really slowly. It's especially noticeable now that I have a loaner A4 to compare it to (my car is in for its 35k service), which defrosts much quicker.

Anybody else have this problem? Would fixing it require replacing the entire rear windshield? I don't really want to have this done if so - the car is already squeaky enough (though will probably get less worse as summer comes along and the temperature warms up) and I don't want more opportunities for squeaks or road noise from a poorly done glass install. I'm already a big enough nag to my dealer.

Thanks.

It may be related to a weak battery. Did you check its condition?

MMI reports 100%. Is this usually accurate?

Default I would have to say no >>>

During a super cold week this year, I wasn't driving the car much, just some very short trips at night.

Even though the gauge said 100%, I decided to hook up my Battery Tender Plus to make sure the battery stayed topped off. The charger has 2 lights. Steady red means battery low and charging. Steady red plus blinking green means battery at 90% and charging. Steady green means battery 100%. It took nearly 6 hours to get to the 90% mark as measured by the charger.

This test may be skewed as I didn't bother to measure the voltage before I applied the charger, but I have owned this charger for many years and found it to be very reliable on other cars.

YMMV, best of luck.

Default I had a similar problem.

My battery meter would say 100% then a few minutes later of listening to the radio with the engine off it would drop very fast to 60%. I had to get a boost to start. Turned out the battery was defective. After a new battery and the dealer resetting the computer to recognize a new battery it has been fine.
