It doesn't matter how new the car is, or the battery.
The light will show whenever the car is taking more power from the battery than the generator is putting back in. You don't necessarily have a problem. If it were happening with a warm car, I'd be more concerned.

Battery / charging problem
My battery symbol on dash flickered red momentarily for time to time. Also, MMI battery status ran down to 5% and stayed there. Happened 5 days after delivery. Didn't seem to affect vehicle operations. Took it to dealer for repair.
Warranty repair report stated the following:
"Reflashed battery regulation module, performed GFF and verified complaint. Performed HC report and persued telediagnosis. After telediagnosis, reflashed software level of battery reg module and performed R test. Rescanned for DTCS and now serv to man specs."
Haven't had a problem since.
