Default Anyone had to replace their CAMSHAFT ADJUSTERS???

Last week my 2005 3.2 threw a CEL. So I took it in, and they said my timing is off, due to my camshaft adjusters (the paperwork says "solenoid") Anyone have experience with this? How much did you pay to get it done (all 4)?

what manufacturing nr you have on your engine?
it's printed on left middle intake pipe..(should be)
i also have an 2005 3.2...so im intersted to find out if my engine will get the problem later.. =(
(it's a expensive thing to fix...i've read they need to pull out the engine.. =/)
but since Audi knows this...it should be on godwill...atleast my opinion.

the earlier 3.2's have known problems with the adjusters (i have read)
/H

I think the solenoid is available seperately/externally if that's the issue. What's the code?

I believe my engine code is AVK...the code numbers I dont have...not listed on the write-up. The faults read as follows: Bank 2 Camshaft Overadvanced, and Implausible Signal from Cam Sensor for Bank 2.

They "know" about this? Damn...was it ever a recall? I would love to save 800!

Default I want to say there is a tech bulletin, I may have replaced a solenoid once or twice

do you have your VIN and I can check for it? Pretty sure you don't need internal engine work but it's always a possibility

Default You have a BKH engine code & there is a tech bulletin

I was looking under AUK so that's why I didn't see it. The codes are for bank 1 or 2 camshaft over-advanced and/or bank 1 or 2 cam position sensor range/performance.

I'd find out if they are aware of the bulletin & if they want to replace the adjusters or the solenoids. Sould only have to replace the 2 on the affected bank...

Default This is the first problem I have had, so please bear with me...does a TSB mean that its a known

issue that they will fix for free? I am out of warranty...

TSB means Technical Service Bulletin. Repair is free under warranty. Outside warranty it costs money
