Yup, dependent on your use. 2 reason to go for it:
1 - better reception
2 - charges phone
Second is probably most significant for me - means don't have to have a cable hanging out of the cigarette lighter socket and keeps interior more tidy

The phone, when used in the cradle:
1. charged by the car itself
2. minimizes dropouts since the phone uses the outside antenna
3. you can turn off bluetooth which means lower battery usage (assuming you take the phone out of the car ever -- and I don't, but I assume most people do.)

I just noticed a second power socket under the arm rest...it is located sideways...my charger for the Blackberry is flat so it fits in there beautifully and I can keep the cord out of site most of the time. This being said, the Treo 650 has a wonderful phone and cradle integration system...I've seen it and the phone interacts perfectly with the Audi
