Anyone know what the "trunk money/dealer incentive" is on the 2005s?
Edmunds says $1000 and $4500 starting on 9/7, but I don't know what is right. I am helping a good friend get a deal on a 3.2 lease. Thanks.

I saw the same thing. Any know how to get the dealer to apply this? This would get me out of my 03 lease.<ul><li><a href="http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/audi/a6/100477016/incentives.html?vdp=off&setzip=16506&state =PA&tid=edmunds.n.incentivesmip.incentives.3.5 .Audi*">http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/audi/a6/100477016/incentives.html?vdp=off&a

Basically, the dealer may apply up to $1000 from AoA to
your purchase, along with the special interest rate of 1.9% available from AFS.
If you are leasing or purchasing the car outright, the dealer may apply up to $4500 from AoA, towards the deal. However, it may not be used with the 1.9% interest on a purchase.
Keep in mind that this is cash to the dealer, not directly to the consumer, so the dealer is not obligated to give you the entire amount - it's a negotiated point.

WOW! So I could technically get a new 2005 A6 for $4500 below invoice if the dealer is willing????
Suddenly my deal doesn't look that great anymore to me :-(

Re: I should start visiting other dealers....
Where are you located. I can refer you to my dealer in NJ. He can also do a remote deal with you. The best guy I've dealt with in AOA! Will understand your price requirements, and get you exactly what you need in as transparent a manner as possible.

Well, if the dealer is willing to make absolutely no money at all - which makes no sense.
They'll need a reason to make the deal, which usually involves the dealer making some small margin ;-) To ge the $4500 or some portion of it, you'll need to lease or buy outright. If you purchase using Audi's promotional interest rates, you'll get at most $1000 off the final price. However, the interest rate is very compelling.
Remember that there probably isn't much inventory left, and so only the odd colour or option combos remain at this point.
